Plot
Sophie, who has been living an ordinary life in a hat shop, becomes an old woman overnight by the curse of the Witch of the Waste. Thinking her own life is finished, she enters the moving castle of the wandering wizard Howl and meets a new world. Living with Howl, Calcifer, and Markl, Sophie comes to learn the meaning of courage and love that matter more than appearance. Above the dark backdrop of curse and war, the work draws the changing relationships of people tending each other's wounds with unusual delicacy.
