Sorcery's core principle is the combination of symbol (resemblance / connection) and equivalent exchange (cost). Specific symbols, mantras, and offerings are linked to the laws of the world; once conditions are complete, the result occurs 'automatically.'
In sorcery, the completeness of the structure matters more than the user's proficiency. If the steps of the ritual are out of order or the symbols are incomplete, the effect distorts or rebounds.
Sorcery is therefore better understood as a non-linear system — one whose success rate and result are decided by 'how exactly the structure is completed' — rather than as a linear growth ladder.
