Weapon Aura

Weapon aura is the aura type that focuses inner energy into a held weapon. Among the four types it has the most distinctive visual signature — the famous 'aura blade' or 'sword aura' that extends, sharpens, or wreaths the weapon itself.

Weapon aura's strength is reach plus power. By transferring aura into the weapon, the user gets both extended reach (the weapon's length, plus aura projected beyond the edge) and amplified damage. Its weakness is dependence on the weapon — lose the weapon, lose the operation, and the weapon itself can be damaged by sustained aura use.

On this page we walk weapon aura's character, operational styles, and limits.

This page covers weapon aura's core character, how it differs from other aura types, and its growth curve.

How weapon aura splits

Inside the type, several styles coexist by what the aura does to the weapon.

Edge-sharpening style

Aura that sharpens the weapon's edge.

Reach-extending style

Aura that projects beyond the weapon's tip.

Wreathing style

Aura that wreathes the entire weapon for damage and intimidation.

Limits of weapon aura

Weapon dependence comes with clear costs.

  • Weapon dependent
Lose the weapon, lose the operation.
  • Weapon damage
Sustained aura use can damage the weapon itself.
  • Weapon-specific
The user's aura is typically tuned to one specific weapon.

How weapon-aura users grow

Their career runs through deepening the unity of weapon and aura.

Beginner weapon-aura users sharpen the weapon's edge with light aura.

Mid-rank users wreathe the weapon and extend reach beyond the edge.

High rank users wield aura blades that cut through armor and terrain.

Peak users wield weapons that have become extensions of themselves — operations that approach the magical.
